WILDHORSE SINGERS
The Wildhorse Singers are an intertribal powwow drum group. Since their beginning, the Wildhorse Singers have been committed to the preservation of Indian ways and traditions of helping the Native American community. They promote and live an alcohol and drug free way of life, and encourage younger members of the drum group to stay in school, study hard and to pursue higher education. Many of the adult members of Wildhorse hold Bachelors Degrees and mentor the younger members of Wildhorse. A stong focus is to provide spiritual and moral support to Native Americans incarcerated in correctional institutions, traveling to various Federal and State prisons to sing and perform as well as to support ceremonies for Native American inmates. The Wildhorse Singers have traveled and sung at many pow wows across the US, and have performed at many charity events, fundraisers, Indian centers, elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, junior colleges, universities, museums, and businesses. Wildhorse hosts an annual pow wow in Torrance, California.
